*Arteezy sat in a dark room. The words "Dire Victory" filled up the screen. Not even Arteezy's shadow fiend could win this game. 3/8/7 378 GPM. Tears filled Arteezy's eyes as he carassed his hand of midas. The sound of hard core gangster rap and crying filled the room. The door creaks open and EE-sama enters the room. "You lost Artour." "You do know what happens when you lose." Arteezy removed his clothes, wearing only one of EE's anime wigs. EE removed his clothes, "You lost 23 MM. Thats how many hours your punishment will be." Arteezy spent the next 23 hours being furiously fucked by his mentor. After the punishment the semen covered Arteezy arised. "Thank you master, I can't wait to return the favor when you lose." Envy smiled. "So will I Artour."*

If you are a Dota2 player who is used to watching streams on twitch, you would probably have seen this copypasta. RTZ and Envy are such close friends, that this kind of jokes float around all over the internet. Let's look deeper about RTZ and Envy, who have been transforming the Western Dota metas since 2013.

Artour Babaev became RTZ after he added the swag-ful -TZ at the end of his name. EternalEnvy named himself after Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist who lived more than 500 years. How did an otaku and a gangster looking boy end up at the top of Dota?

This was a post by EternalEnvy looking for players for his team. If you scroll down, you can see that Arteezy had shown an interest. EternalEnvy, after climbing to the top of HoN ranked chart, switches over to Dota and creates a new team. It's interesting to note that Clairvoyance, who is C9's coach now [TN: AFAIK Clairvoyance is no longer coaching C9), and lust were part of his team.

Although it has been almost ten years since "pro" dota players have been playing professionally, you can see that RTZ and EE were still researching and testing game mechanics that can be used in midlane such as aggro management, missle speed, usage of skills, and RTZ blocks. They are showing off techniques that players such as Dendi and Ferrari did not use. Then, Envy discovers that RTZ is still a kid who goes to school and has to do his homework. The *Senpai* decides to halt his dream of conquering the world with RTZ and starts looking for other players. He creates a team called nth, which consisted of Black^, who is a lot more famous now, AdmiralBulldog, and s4, the magician who came over from HoN.

Then Envy gets contacted by Loda and Akke who were interested in players who switched over from HoN. (May be I'll talk about Loda and Akke in my next blog :D) Because a team could only have 5 players, Black gets kicked from the team. So EternalEnvy, S4, Admiralbulldog, Loda, and Akke becomes team notidehunter.

notidehunter gets 1st place or 2nd place in most tournaments they participate in. One of the biggest accomplishment is winning Starladder and Dreamhack, the tournaments that Na'Vi almost always won.

But there was something that was lacking in nth.

Whether it was a pure coincidence or not, the other 4 members of nth were Swedish, and Loda decides to kick Envy and bring in EGM, another swedish place.

This team, as you know, becomes Alliance, and they end up winning TI3.

(nth did aggro trilane with gyrocopter and did tons of ganking and stacking. they even drafted bloodseeker to buff gyro, who had 0% pick/ban rate then)

They also blocked off enemy jungle with the courier. (And this was patched just 4 hours after nth showed it off. Ever since then, icefrog did many "EE-specific" nerfs)

If you look at all of the horrible things that the supports are doing, you can see that many of them came from EternalEnvy. But if you look at how he used to play support, he did many creative things, but there also were many times that something was lacking.

When I look back at TI3, I clearly remember superfarmed 4-position EGM making beautiful plays, but Envy seemed to be lacking in that department, and he leaves nth.

After leaving notidehunter, EE watches TI3 and slowly begins to sharpen his knife for his vengeance. He begins to seek out new friends to play with, and he lands in Kaipi.

With three Romanians, Arise^-, bone7, and zizou, and pieliedie who used to wash dishes in a restaurant, Kaipi begins to beat small and bigger teams. To be honest, they made a team to compete in TI3 qualifier, but Valve did not give them a chance.

Envy had a desire to achieve something bigger. So he kicks Arise^- and Zizou, and brings in comewithme and arteezy.

And kaipi defeats Alliance and Envy finally gets his revenge. He beats the one team that kicked him and climbed to the top of the world, Alliance.

To take his team even higher, he kicks CWM, who is known as a teambreaker, and brings in singsing.

Before TI3, Eternalenvy talks about singsing that there is noone like Sing, now that all the good players are in a team. But since I watch all the twitch streams, I know the truth.

One day after this pub match, SingSing stands in for Kaipi, and few days later, he replaces CWM.

Now the team composition looked good and the team seemed good, but Arteezy becomes a Senior in highschool. Envy was debating between Qojqva, FATA-, and Aui_2000 for Arteezy's replacement, and he picks Aui.

When EE looked back why he brought in Aui, he said Qojqva was very strong and FATA was very impressive. May be we could see why be brought in FATA after he kicked SingSing.

Now the team looked good. Kaipi got sponsored by a Chinese organization, and was able to make it to the biggest LAN since TI3, MLG Columbus, by fan votes.

But as you know, nothing is easy for EternalEnvy who lives a life of an anime character. Now that his party is full, and all they have to do is go kill the boss, bone7's American visa gets rejected. Kaipi thinks about who they should bring in, and they bring in the BabyRage Arteezy. Life is a full circle.

What can I say about this LAN? Back then, this kind of big LANs were unusual, and a lot of super plays happened during this LAN. I just get excited everytime I watch these videos.
Kaipi picked the heroes that Arteezy were good at, and built LOTS of force staffs to save the carries (and surprise, surprise... Force Staff gets nerfed after this LAN). Chen using Test of Faith to send teammates home, and EE playing Clinkz with blink dagger to outplay his opponents...

EternalEnvy and Arteezy defeats all of the teams and finally clinches the first place.
