Sniper/Troll or comeback mechanics? Why Dota is becoming boring for the first time in my life...

This is my first post on r/dota2, so I apologize if I will touch on a subject much discussed here. That is fine, though, I love wasting my time in this subreddit, mostly reading and very rarely commenting, just as you do!

Anyway... I have played dota a lot in the last 7-8+ years, probably 1-2 games a day on average, so I think I have developed a good sense of the game. Lately, the game feels different.. I guess the right word is BORING.

Yes, I think I know the culprit - the rubber band mechanics. The idea of which, tbh, I really liked at first when it was introduced back in September. I thought, "Yeah! Excellent!" the bad players who overextend will be punished and the good smart players will start winning every game. It was a brilliant idea at inception I suppose, you kill the deathball push meta, you punish overextension and you allow the losing team to fight back for some epic lategame showdowns! Wow, sounds perfect right? What an illusion...

It is not really perfect as we have witnessed in our pubs. There are heroes currently who can go 0-10, then win 1 fight and then win the game. And you don't need to overextend to feed them, you just need to die once - AND this WILL happen >90% of the games, no matter what. And you just lost, for no good reason, GG, HOHO HAHA. Suddenly, it is not the players who can dominate the game early-mid who win the games, it's the ones who pick the stronger late game. And it makes the game pointless because you pretty much know the outcome at the pick phase, ceteris paribus.

Now, it is true, sniper and troll are a lil bit too powerful currently. I remember going offlane sniper the other day and killing the safelane trilane 1vs3 with well-positioned ughhh shrapnel and auto-attacks. Fair enough, sniper and troll are strong. But even if we they get nerfed, there will be new imba late game heroes to replace them. I bet next patch everyone will be picking spectre, for example. It is going to be the same guys! You will kill the spectre 10 times and he will still win thanks to the rubber band mechanics.

So I bet the game will remain just as boring after Icefrog nerfes sniper/troll etc. It will all come down to the picks. Remember old NaVi? We jump you under the tower, we kill you, and we destroy your tower? Won't happen again, because it not worth the risk anymore.

It seems to me the comeback mechanics are tailored to make the game easier for new players.

Anyone else feeling the game is less fun/ getting tailored more and more towards new players. I feel nobody at valve gives a f*** about us Veterans who kept the game alive for so long. Valve knows I bought enough hats and I wont buy more, so they want make the game dumb for new players to join and keep buying the hats. The HATS boys the HATS.

TLDR: Rubber-band mechanics are turning Dota into LoL, i.e. boring.
