Riki Guide/Tips 5k MMR (Offlane)

Hello i decided to make a riki guide since he will be the most op hero of 6.86, I cant really say im a good player(5400 mmr currently 2500 matches no other acc ) im just a riki spammer in ranked matches. Firstly i wanna talk about Riki; Riki is master of psychological warfare in dota 2. He excels on getting on people`s nerves. He is the carry Techies of dota 2 they have very minimal diffrences , Techies places mines and when people steps on mines , they die. Riki is a mine that finds people and kills them, His advantages over techies are He can actually hard carry the game, He is useful in teamfights, And he is much more active during the game. His disadvantages are he needs xp and some gold to be useful, unlike techies attempting to kill him sometimes maybe rewarding(rarely). As techies Riki can deal high amount of phsyical damage in short time and make supports abandon game.

And now we know what riki is, lets talk about when to pick him; Very similiar to techies riki is best when he has friends that synergy with him (all heroes needs friends but riki and Techies, they cant live without them ) Techies cant be techies without Tusk,Magnus and Riki just like techies can not be riki without ganker friends in my 5k trench) Rikis best friends are mids that loves to fight(TA BM Puck) , Supports with disables and armor reduction(venge Dazzle SD ) , Very defensive supports(ORACKLE ORACLE ORACLE and Omniknight), And 2 offlaners that he can be played as pos 4 with, Dark seer and Phoenix) Why riki is good with these 2? well there is no way to kill riki when there is a ds behind and they can just buy 2 sentries eat their opponent`s sentries and basicly keep enemeies away forever if they dust DS is there to Surge him!,Riki also helps DS farm jungle with ion shell on hismelf dont worry creeps dont run around they stand if ds is far away and you are invisible And Phoenix? Baiscy Egg Smoke just how techies counters melee heroes in the game, Riki Phoenix combo rapes melee heroes in the game

Like techies Riki is very good againist split pushers ((specially when he has mobile teammates like 3 Spirits)), because he has short cooldowns , after killing someone he does not have to wait 60 seconds. Like techies , riki is very good againist melee heroes, None of them can do shit to riki without bkb, Bara counters riki? Bh counters riki? Riki counters them, sure if you are playing with 5 slow heroes without stuns , they are gonna kill you but thatss not the problem, Riki is much better than these 2 shits when paired with other heroes, as i mentioned above, Riki needs friends and %90 of the time riki+1 fighter will have upper hand in 10 to 20 min fights in 2-3 vs 3s. Only because of his broken skill, smoke screen. you may say, he dies in 3 seconds ! well thats basicly your fault playing riki requires map awarness, and positioning, You have to not get counter iniated and not get iniated on (( if you dont have defensive supports )) if you go and farm lane at min 15 of course enemies will come as 3 and kill you , You are the one supposed to be searching for them , forcing them to stay together and make them wanna 5 vs 5, thats part of playing riki , any normal human being aware of what riki does will start 5 manning early and push, And now another part, You should not have a team that is very weak againist 5 lineups between 15-30min marks or you are gonna lose. If i have to explain in 1 word Riki is a fighter, specially better than other heroes when paired with friends and is bad when his team is weaker than the opposite team between 15-30 min mark. Because in such cases enemies can get away with 5 manning and not really fall too much behind in terms of farm and take objectives.

Riki is not a hero you should be picking to counter 1 anti mage , or Riki should not be ignored due to 1 simple slardar bounty hunter pick.

And some basics tips from my old tips thread

1)That works %50 of time at 3 to 4.5 k mmr, When u see an enemy with dust/ward in his inventory throw smoke to him and run away/blink away.You can cause them to waste their ward/smoke.

2)In late game I heavily suggest you to buy manta style and gem of true sight. You can deward with manta illusions which means enemies will not be able to see you without gem of truesight. Riki s main goal should be damaging economy of his enemies by forcing them to move as team.Note Do not use manta before fights, use it to dispell and dodge spells.

3)Do not play Riki if the enemy team has 3 tanky heroes Viper, Razor, Centaur , Spirit Breaker, Slardar, Dragon Knight, Ogre Magi, Night Stalker, Tiny, ( Riki is good againist IO) Abaddon( very powerful gem carrier and riki useless againist him.), and following herores Broodmother, Bloodcyka, Multiple heroes that like to buy force staff as first item(WR/OD, riki is usually good againist them but when there are more than 2-3 of them riki can not do anything in team fights)

4)Item build = Power Treads, Ring of Aqulia, Orb Of venom, Diffusal Blade. Later BKB SNY Manta Butterfly Ethereal blade are choices, 2 Diffusal is also good)

5)You may think riki does not need tangos but since 6.84 patch you can eat sentries with them instantly so even if you dont use them in lane u will need them later :P sometimes during early stages of game enemy supports does not buy dust and starts placing sentries madly. just buy 4 tangos 125 gold, and ask for a sentry from your supports. Place it and stand on top of it. make sure u are safe. destroy their sentry. Most of the time mad vengeful spirits willcome back with 4 wards in their inventory and start placing them, Just eat them instantly with tangos till they run out of sentries and buy dust. stand close to enemy support as long as he is in your senty`s range so you can eat his ward without risking your life.
